"SELLING ENGLAND BY THE POUND" PERFORMED BY "THE MUSICAL BOX"

Watcher of the skies, watcher of all

Així amb “Watcher of the skies” de l’album “Foxtrot” començava el concert que el dilluns dia 10 el grup “The Musical Box” va oferir a la sala Barts de Barcelona. 

Aquest grup autoritzat a interpretar les cançons llegendàries del mític grup anglès en la seva època liderada per Peter Gabriel va convèncer plenament als assistents que omplien de gom a gom el teatre del paral·lel barceloní. Talment com si ens trobéssim dins un túnel del temps varen anar sonant les peces més emblemàtiques del seu àlbum “Selling England by the Pound” de fet varen sonar quasi totes, crec si no m’erro de “More Fool Me” “Aisle of Plenty” i “After the Ordeal”. Però en canvi vàrem poder escoltar “Horizons”, “The Musical Box” i va acabar el concert amb la majestuosa “Supper’s Ready”

Però tots sabem que no hi ha concert sense “bisos” i aquí ens varen avançar tres peces del proper espectacle que pensen portar l’any vinent (també a Barcelona” i que estarà basat en l’àlbum “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway”

Early morning Manhattan,
Ocean winds blow on the land.
The Movie-Palace is now undone,
The all-night watchmen have had their fun.
Sleeping cheaply on the midnight show,
It's the same old ending-time to go.
Get out!
It seems they cannot leave their dream.
There's something moving in the sidewalk steam,
And the lamb lies down on Broadway.

Un digne colofó a una vetllada extraordinària per a tots els fans del rock dels 70.

Abans del concert pròpiament dit es va passar un documental de no massa bona qualitat però interessant sobre la gira del “The Lamb” anomenat “Counting out time” on vàrem poder veure imatges inèdites del grup amb un Peter Gabriel en plena forma.
